Job summary

Northside Hospital seeks an Occupational Therapist to coordinate daily department activities, orient and train staff, and ensure competency checks and scheduling. The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Occupational Therapy, is licensed in Georgia, and has hospital experience plus CPR certification.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or higher from an accredited school in Occupational Therapy.
• Licensed by the Georgia State Board.
• Three years' experience in licensed discipline, with at least one year in a hospital environment.
• CPR certification for all age groups.
• Ability to coordinate and direct activities, procedures and personnel.

Responsibilities

Coordinates the daily activities of assigned departments including: staff & student orientation, training, competency checks, scheduling & e-time. Acts as liaison between assigned departments, patient care units, and other medical personnel. Assists leadership with performance improvement activities. Works with age groups defined by clinical competency which may include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations. The duties of this position require patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service.

Required

• B.S. degree or higher from an accredited school in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school.
• Licensed by the appropriate Georgia State Board.
• Three (3) years' experience in licensed discipline, with at least one (1) year experience in a hospital environment.
• Ability to work independently and communicate tactfully.
• Must demonstrate ability to effectively coordinate and direct activities, procedures and personnel.
• Knowledgeable in rehab regulations, billing, and reimbursement, and CMS guidelines (example, G-Codes).
• Must be certified in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for all age groups.

Preferred

• Previous supervisory experience.
