Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. Rehabilitation Team is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to deliver OT programs and treatments for diverse patient populations across inpatient and outpatient settings. The role includes patient and family education and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications include an OTA degree, GA licensure, CPR, and at least two years of licensed clinical experience. The work hours are 8:30–5:00, with weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher from an accredited OTA program.
• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy.
• CPR certification for all age groups.
• Minimum 2 years of licensed clinical experience.
• Internal candidate must attain 3.25 PE and no disciplinary action on file.

Responsibilities

• Perform occupational therapy programs and treatments as directed by the occupational therapist for inpatient & outpatient pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
• Provide employee and patient educational programs as directed.
• Demonstrate courtesy and patience in speaking with patients, families, medical personnel and others to ensure quality customer service.

Responsibilities

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will be responsible for performing occupational therapy programs and treatments as directed by the occupational therapist for inpatient & outpatient pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations. Provides employee and patient educational programs as directed. The duties of this position require patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Associate's degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist Assistant by the Georgia State Board of Physical Therapy.
• Technical training in the use of occupational therapy equipment used in the inpatient and/or outpatient settings, per assigned job duties.
• Current certification in cardio‑pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for all age groups.
• Must have 2 years of licensed clinical experience.
• Internal candidate must attain 3.25 PE (prior year) and no disciplinary action on file.

PREFERRED

• Has current knowledge of orthopedics, neurology, and medical/surgical problems associated with the adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
