Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Underground Electrical/Networks Supervisor for our Goldstrike operations. You will oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical equipment, supervise electrical crews and contractors, and ensure safety standards in a challenging mining environment.

Qualifications

• Eight years’ experience working in an underground mining environment required.
• Three years experience with underground network and communications preferred.
• Formal education in network and/or communications preferred.
• Possess strong knowledge/skills in Network & Communications repair, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of complex underground equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision for the electrical maintenance work force in the Underground Division.
• Responsible for carrying out construction and electrical maintenance plans in a safe productive work environment.
• Perform all network and communication maintenance duties required in the mine and on surface. Equipment includes fiber optic network, wireless network, Cisco switches, radio and radio controls.
• Responsible for administering company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of all underground electrical equipment; direct supervision of electrical crews and contractors working in the electrical department’s area of responsibility; perform other duties as assigned. • Possess strong knowledge/skills in Network & Communications repair, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of complex underground equipment preferred
• Willingness to learn and apply new skills to repair all underground mobile mining equipment required
• Strong dedication to safety and courageous leadership required
• Demonstrated knowledge of SAP/EAM preferred
• Proven safe work history required
• Eight (8) years’ experience working in an underground mining environment required
• Ability to work effectively with all departments in a team environment required
• Excellent communication skill required
• Knowledge of conveyor systems, ventilation systems, pumping systems, and communication systems preferred, high and low voltage power distribution required
• Strong computer skills required
• Ability to perform all essential functions of this position required
• The ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days is an essential function of this role.
