Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Underground Operations General Supervisor for the Cortez area with a focus on safety, leadership, and efficient operations. The role requires coaching supervisors, coordinating staffing, and ensuring adherence to safety and operational standards.

You will partner with Engineering, Geology, Geotechnical, and Maintenance teams to develop and execute short- and long-range mine plans, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced mining

Qualifications

• Minimum ten (10) years of verifiable and related maintenance experience.
• Five (5) years of supervisory or lead experience (preferred).
• Experience in a planned maintenance environment (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics (required).
• Professional communication skills with various levels of employees (written and verbal, required).
• Excellent leadership skills and ability to influence others (required).
• Proven ability to perform essential job functions (required).
• Team-based work skills (required).
• Proficiency with basic computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) (required).
• Valid driver's license (required).
• Commitment to developing and maintaining a safe work culture (required).
• Ability to operate mine tractors and other company vehicles (required).

Responsibilities

• Provide regular field presence to support, coach, and develop supervisors while ensuring work is safe and to standard.
• Lead workforce planning activities including staffing, training, competency development, and performance management.
• Ensure safety, operational, and behavioral expectations are met and address deficiencies promptly.
• Maintain clear, transparent communication across crews, shifts, and leadership teams.
• Coordinate shift-to-shift pass-downs to ensure continuity of operations.
• Drive compliance to mine plans, production targets, and priorities; resolve obstacles.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Geology, Geotechnical, Maintenance and other stakeholders on mine plans.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators and implement corrective actions.
• Manage costs through efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment; minimize waste and rework.
• Promote ownership, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
