Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a RTX company, seeks a Supervisor, Modular Assembly - 2nd Shift in North Berwick to lead a Module Assembly cell. You will oversee line objectives, mentor a multi-skilled team, and drive Lean initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and delivery while reducing costs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Modular Assembly Operations Cell for 2nd shift.
  • Mentor hourly employees building Module Assemblies for Commercial and Military product families.
  • Apply Lean and continuous improvement methods to improve quality, efficiency and delivery while controlling costs.
  • Coordinate across shifts to meet MRP, ramp rates, and safety goals.
  • Ensure training and safe, environmentally sound work practices; implement cross-training.

Second Shift position: Monday - Thursday 4PM - 2AM
What You Will Do

The Supervisor, Modular Assembly - 2nd Shift will be responsible for leading a Module Assembly Operations Cell within the North Berwick

Modular Assembly Business. The Supervisor, Modular Assembly - 2nd Shift will provide leadership to hourly employees within the organization-building of Module Assemblies supporting both Commercial (V2500, NGPF) and Military (F135) product families.

  • Owning the business objectives and deliverables for the line, and able to communicate and direct efforts across all shifts in order to align and deliver a quality product
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the multi-skilled group of team members engaged in the assembly of jet engine components.
  • Apply CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence), Lean and other continuous improvement techniques to develop and implement process improvement initiatives sought at growing quality, efficiency, and delivery integrity while reducing costs to align to our customer cost curve
  • Provide leadership across several key business objectives such as execution to MRP and production ramp rates, manpower planning & quality leadership with first-pass yield & process certification, focus on ergonomic risk reduction & behavior-based safety, as well as employee engagement communication and partnership.
  • Ensure employees are adequately trained and work in a safe and environmentally sound manner and define and execute cross-training strategies to support program growth and attrition
  • Execute business decisions fairly, conduct annual performance reviews, hold regular toolbox meetings, provide two-way communications, apply policy/work rules clearly and consistently and deliver communication of organizational goals and objectives.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelors degree and minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, continuous improvement/process improvement or similar environment OR an Associate's degree and 4 or more years experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, continuous improvement/process improvement or similar environment
  • In absence of a degree, High School diploma/GED or equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing operations, continuous improvement/process improvement or similar environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Working knowledge of shop practices, processes and procedures
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Demonstrated skill and success in team leadership, facilitation & coaching skills
  • Working knowledge of new product / process technologies
  • SAP, SOLUMINA and SFWF experience
  • Understanding of the QN system and required actions
  • Operations experience and understanding of material flow
  • Engine/component assembly experience and working knowledge of assembly practices, processes, and procedures

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
