Job summary

OceanaGold Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina seeks a qualified Supervisor-Mechanical to oversee projects spanning structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation disciplines critical to mine operations.

You will provide engineering support for underground and surface mining, plan and monitor execution, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while driving project delivery and cost control.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in industrial plant construction, power plants and mine processing plants.
• 3 years of supervisory experience in related projects.
• MSHA 40 HR trained or equivalent.
• Engineering degree or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, monitor design and planning work to regulatory standards.
• Direct design and planning work to meet delivery targets.
• Provide close to accurate cost estimates of SMP projects for budgeting.
• Analyze data and recommend actions to ensure timely, cost-efficient outputs by contractors.
• Communicate with contractors to resolve complex issues hindering completion.
• Develop solutions to mitigate risk and maximize value.
• Periodically audit compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Lead preparation of documents, budgets, and presentations for program objectives.
• Monitor program implementation against MOA and agreements.
• Keep stakeholders updated on progress.

Haile Gold Mine is seeking aqualified, experienced, and reliable Supervisor- Mechanical that provides oversight of projects that include Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines that are critical to the operation of the Mine and provides engineering support and advice on the planning, design and supervision/monitoring of Haile’s underground and surfacemining.

• Plans, implements, and monitors design and planning work to comply with national regulatorystandards
• Directs and coordinates design and planning work to meet deliverytargets
• Provides close to accurate cost estimates of SMP projects for budgeting and procurement.
• Thoroughly analyzes data collected and recommends actions plans to ensure timely, cost efficient, and high-quality output produced by contractors
• Promptly communicates with contractors to resolve complex issues that hinder the completion of theproject
• Develops solutions to mitigate risk and maximizevalue
• Periodically performs audits to check compliance with regulatory requirements
• Reviews risks, responses and risk managementperformance within theteam
• Leads the preparation of documents, plans, budgets, and presentations to ensure the implementation of the program objectives andplans
• Monitors compliance of program implementation with agreements as stated in program plans, MOA, and/or other similaragreements
• Keeps stakeholders apprised of progress through regular communication andupdates
• Addresses projectissues with urgency and direct communication with the right stakeholders andactors

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear andsee.
• Must be able to work shift work with 12 -hourshifts.
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during theworkday.
• Work is in asurface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature andhumidity.
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in amine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment asrequired.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in industrial plant construction, power plants and mine processingplants.
• 3 years of supervisory experience in industrial plant construction, power plants and mine processing plant projects and/or experience in construction management.
• Trade Qualifications or Degree in Engineering or related discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical).
• MSHA 40 HR Trained or past MSHAtraining
• Knowledge in SMP construction methodologies and standards and its installation.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite: MS Excel functions and setup, MS Word processing, MS PowerPoint presentation, and MS Project usage andprocessing.
• High technical knowledge in general engineering
• Displays high degree of safety and environmental awareness and adrive for continuous improvement.
