Job summary

OceanaGold Corporation is seeking a seasoned Mining Engineer to oversee and lead Technical Services planning for open-pit operations. You will manage short- and long-range pit designs, drill and blast patterns, and ensure safe, timely execution of all planning activities at the Haile Gold Mine site in the U.S., near Charlotte, NC.

The role emphasizes leadership, development of team members, and collaboration with operations to optimize ore recovery while minimizing dilution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from an accredited university.
• 5+ years mining experience; 8+ years preferred.
• Experience in open-pit gold mining is required.
• Deswik software skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and leadership enabling the Technical Services team to achieve zero harm.
• Lead development goals and succession planning for team members.
• Manage daily, weekly, and rolling three-month mine and dump plans to maximize efficiency.
• Collaborate with mine operations and improve mining software usage.
