Job summary

OceanaGold's Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina seeks a qualified Supervisor- Mechanical to oversee projects across Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines. The role supports underground and surface mining with engineering guidance and contractor coordination.

The position requires overseeing design/planning, budgeting, risk management, and ensuring timely, high-quality outputs while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising mechanical projects in a mining environment.
• Knowledge of structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and on-site mining conditions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and monitor design/planning to regulatory standards.
• Direct and coordinate design/planning to meet delivery targets.
• Provide cost estimates for SMP projects for budgeting.
• Analyze data and recommend actions for timely, cost-efficient output.
• Communicate with contractors to resolve complex issues.

Job Description

Haile Gold Mine is seeking a qualified, experienced, and reliable Supervisor- Mechanical that provides oversight of projects that include Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines that are critical to the operation of the Mine and provides engineering support and advice on the planning, design and supervision/monitoring of Haile's underground and surface mining.

• Plans, implements, and monitors design and planning work to comply with national regulatory standards
• Directs and coordinates design and planning work to meet delivery targets
• Provides close to accurate cost estimates of SMP projects for budgeting and procurement.
• Thoroughly analyzes data collected and recommends actions plans to ensure timely, cost efficient, and high-quality output produced by contractors
• Promptly communicates with contractors to resolve complex issues that hinder the completion of the project
• Develops solutions to mitigate risk and maximize value
• Periodically performs audits to check compliance with regulatory requirements
• Reviews risks, responses and risk managementperformance within the team
• Leads the preparation of documents, plans, budgets, and presentations to ensure the implementation of the program objectives and plans
• Monitors compliance of program implementation with agreements as stated in program plans, MOA, and/or other similar agreements
• Keeps stakeholders apprised of progress through regular communication and updates
• Addresses projectissues with urgency and direct communication with the right stakeholders and actors

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
• Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts.
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
• Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
