Job summary

Everus Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Piping Project Coordinator to oversee and coordinate assigned piping projects on site. You will support the project manager and Mechanical Piping Coordinator in ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across projects in industrial environments.

The role requires 3+ years of piping experience, strong blueprint interpretation, and the ability to lead field activities with a focus on regulatory compliance and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical piping projects for industrial, pharmaceutical, and heavy commercial industries.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, P&IDs, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of mechanical piping codes and industry standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; capable of coordinating with teams.

Responsibilities

• Mobilize new projects and demobilize completed projects.
• Procure field materials to meet project specs.
• Manage rental equipment needs for piping projects.
• Install, assemble, maintain, and repair mechanical piping systems handling fluids.
• Layout, install, and maintain underground and above-ground pipe systems and supports.
• Operate heavy machinery as certified (forklifts, lifts, rigging).
• Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, or pressure issues in piping systems.
• Interpret drawings to plan pipe layouts compliant with standards.
• Test systems for leaks via hydrostatic or air pressure tests.
• Maintain quality standards and conduct safety audits.
• Direct daily piping staff and document as-built/test records.

JOB SUMMARY

This position will provide direct oversight and coordination of assigned mechanical piping projects by assisting the project manager and Mechanical Piping Coordinator with the overall management and execution of safety, quality, and efficiency requirements of each project.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 or more years of experience in mechanical piping projects for industrial, pharmaceutical, and heavy commercial industries.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, P&IDs, and specifications.
• Strong understanding of mechanical piping codes and industry standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to collaborate with teams.
• Detail oriented, self-motivated and able to manage projects in a fast-paced environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Initial mobilization of new projects and demobilization of completed projects.
• Field procurement of materials as needed to conform to project specifications.
• Managing rental equipment needs for mechanical piping projects.
• Responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing mechanical piping systems that carry various fluids including water, steam, chemicals, or gases in industrial settings. Systems include piping, valves, fittings, and equipment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical piping systems, materials, and industrial standards.
• Layout, assemble, install, and maintain underground and above-ground pipe systems, pipe supports, and related equipment.
• Ability to run and become certified in the operation of heavy machinery including forklifts, man lifts, and rigging equipment as required.
• Use various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threading machines, compression tools, press tools, and bending tools to join pipes by means of welding, brazing, soldering, cementing, compression, press, or threading.
• Diagnosing and repairing faults in mechanical piping systems, including leaks, blockages, or pressure issues.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, P&IDs, and specifications to plan the layout of mechanical piping systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.
• Test mechanical piping systems for leaks using methods such as hydrostatic testing or air pressure tests.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and industry codes.
• Daily management of assigned mechanical piping staff.
• Quality control walk downs and safety audits of mechanical piping projects.
• Maintain all as-built project records and test record documents to ensure relevant information is documented and secured.
• Other tasks as assigned
