Job summary

Yanfeng International Automotive Technology Co. Ltd. in Monroe, Michigan, is seeking a Materials Supervisor on 2nd shift to lead daily material handling, inventory control, and data integrity across the plant.

You will coach a team, plan goals, coordinate deliveries, and ensure safe, efficient storage and retrieval of supplies to meet internal and external customer requirements. This role supports a global automotive supplier and offers exposure to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Area of study includes electrical, mechanical and/or industrial engineering, administration, materials, and/or logistics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the activities of Material Handling personnel and assist when necessary.
• Monitor production materials to ensure adequate inventory levels.
• Monitor and report receipts and other inventory data to maintain inventory levels of production material.
• Assist cycle counters to ensure accurate inventory accountability.
• Monitor suppliers and commercial carriers to meet delivery schedules and rectify errors timely.
• Update and maintain computer data (e.g., trailer maps, warehouse locations) to ensure data integrity.
• Plan goals and development with each direct report.
• Arrange for and follow up on special pick-ups and deliveries.
• Review employee performance and coach employees regularly.
• Communicate issues to Human Resources and develop action plans with HR to correct issues.
• Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement and ensure activities are planned and reviewed.

Job Summary

The Materials Supervisor is responsible for supervisingdaily activities of materials personnel to ensure safe and efficient storage and retrieval of supplies/components/resources to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the activities of Material Handling personnel and assistwhen necessary. Responsible for monitoring production materials to ensure adequate inventory levels.
• Responsible for monitoring production material to ensure adequate inventory levels.
• Responsible for monitoring and reporting of receipts and other inventory related data on the computer to accurately maintain inventory levels of production material.
• Responsible for assisting cycle counters to ensure accurate inventory accountability.
• Monitor suppliers andcommercial carriers to ensure that delivery schedules are consistently met, and any error rectifiedon a timely basis.
• Responsible for updating and maintaining computer data (ex. Trailer maps, warehouse locations, etc.) to ensure database integrity.
• Plan goals and individual development with each direct report.
• Arrange for and follow up on special pick-ups and deliveries.
• Review employee performance and coach employees regularly.
• Communicate issues that cannot be resolved to Human Resources and develop an appropriate action plan with HR to correct the issue.
• Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement, ensure that continuous improvement activities are planned, implemented, measured, reported and reviewed in the respective area of responsibility.
• All other duties assigned by manager.

Qualifications

• Area of study: electric, mechanical and/or industrial engineering administration, materials, and/or logistics or similar.
• 2-5 minimum years of experience within the field.
• 1-3 minimum years of experience withinthe automotive or trucking industry.
• Experience working in a union facility preferred.
• Must be able and willing to work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
