Job description

This position supervises the overall maintenance operations in an efficient, professional, and effective manner. This position directs workers in trades of electrical and mechanical for maintenance and repair of equipment and the site. The key responsibilities of this position include: supervising the maintenance technicians and organizing maintenance contractors; determining the scope, materials, and resources (internal and external) needed for maintenance work orders; ordering parts; making weekly schedules and organizing plant wide shutdowns; ensuring PM’s are executed timely; together with the Engineering team driving improvements in our reliability program; maintain spare parts inventory. These responsibilities will be performed in compliance with all company and regulatory programs including, but not limited to: SQF, HACCP, GMP, OSHA, FDA, USDA and EPA policies and procedures.

This role is fully onsite at our production facility, where you will work closely with technicians, engineers, and plant leadership.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and support a team of maintenance technicians including electricians, mechanics, and pipefitters
  • Plan and schedule weekly maintenance work and help manage plant-wide shutdowns
  • Coordinate internal and external resources needed to complete maintenance tasks
  • Oversee inventory of spare parts and ensure the right materials are available when needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to prioritize and complete work orders efficiently
  • Use blueprints and work instructions to assign tasks clearly and effectively
  • Drive improvements in equipment reliability through strong preventative maintenance practices

What you’ll bring

  • Degree preferred or 2-3 years relevant supervisory experience.
  • Must have good organizational and communication skills, both written and oral are necessary.
  • Must have high level knowledge of all Microsoft software (in particular Excel and Word) and analytical skills to review and interpret data.
  • Must have experience using maintenance softwares & ERP systems (AMMS and JDE is preferred, but other experiences are applicable).
  • Must be able to troubleshoot problem(s) back to its root cause and develop corrective solutions to complex industrial and/or production situations.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the food industry preferred.
  • Previous supervisor experience a plus.
