Job summary

MonoSol LLC is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily maintenance and ensure safe, reliable plant operation. You will guide shift leaders, coordinate with production, and drive preventive strategies using RCA findings to reduce downtime.

The role requires 3–5 years of supervisory maintenance experience, strong CMMS skills, and a focus on safety and cost-effective asset performance.

Job description

  • Supervise and support daily maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliability, and cost‑effective operation of MonoSol plant assets.
  • Oversee and follow up on maintenance execution through Technician Shift Leaders, including review of assigned KPIs and ensuring strong, consistent collaboration with Production to align priorities and support reliable operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to Technician Shift Leaders, ensuring maintenance planning and scheduling are effectively executed in alignment with production needs.
  • Support reliability initiatives by reducing reactive maintenance, executing preventive maintenance tasks, and utilizing X5 CMMS data and EWO Root Cause Analysis findings as directed.
  • Coordinate closely with Safety, Quality, Production, and Engineering to address equipment issues, minimize downtime, and support improvements in asset performance and OEE.
Responsibilities and Key Activities
Safety
  • Promote and actively support safety programs by leading participation in JSA’s, Gemba Walks, 5S activities, and daily safety conversations.
  • Enforce safe work practices for maintenance personnel, contractors, and visitors by ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Execute and reinforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent maintenance activities.
  • Support safety audits, investigations, and assessments; promptly address identified hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are strictly followed during maintenance activities; verify proper application of LOTO prior to work, coach employees on correct usage, and immediately correct non‑compliance.
  • Participate in and support Safety Continuous Improvement initiatives through observations, employee feedback, and corrective actions.
Quality
  • Ensure daily maintenance activities support Quality Assurance programs by working closely with Quality Engineers, Process Engineers, and the site Fast Response Team to address internal and external quality issues.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to troubleshoot and resolve equipment‑related quality concerns using established root cause analysis processes (EWOs).
  • Execute and reinforce standardized maintenance procedures to ensure consistent workmanship and adherence to quality requirements.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, proper use of change management processes, and timely follow‑up of maintenance actions related to quality improvements.
Productivity
  • Work closely with Operations leadership on a dotted‑line basis to align daily maintenance activities with production priorities, supporting shared accountability for equipment reliability, uptime, and performance.
  • Supervise and execute maintenance planning, scheduling, and work execution to support equipment uptime and OEE targets.
  • Ensure accurate and timely use of X5 CMMS for work orders, asset history, preventive maintenance execution, and parts usage.
  • Track and report key maintenance metrics such as planned vs. reactive work, PM schedule compliance, MTBF, MTTR, and cost drivers; take corrective actions within the area of responsibility.
  • Coordinate and support the execution of planned outages, shutdowns, and assigned capital maintenance activities.
  • Support budget control by monitoring labor, material, and contractor costs and escalating variances as necessary.
  • Direct, coach, and develop maintenance technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and quality work execution.
  • Reinforce clear roles, performance expectations, and accountability within the assigned maintenance team.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors and external service providers to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to required standards.
  • Collaborate with the Reliability Engineer to execute reliability‑centered maintenance activities, preventive maintenance optimization, and failure elimination initiatives within the area of responsibility.
  • Apply Root Cause Analysis (EWOs) to investigate equipment failures and recurring issues, implementing corrective actions to reduce downtime, improve asset reliability, and control maintenance costs.
  • Actively participate in the Idea Management System by submitting improvement ideas, providing technical input, and supporting implementation of approved initiatives.
  • Utilize the ASANA project management tool when assigned to support or lead medium‑complexity continuous improvement projects, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to scope.
  • Lead and participate in Lean Manufacturing activities such as Kaizen events, 5S, SMED, and waste/loss elimination efforts to improve maintenance efficiency and equipment performance.

  • Execute and support maintenance planning and scheduling to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient daily operations

Education and Experience

  • Experience: 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a process manufacturing environment, including demonstrated experience supervising or leading maintenance personnel.
