Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. in Grove City, OH is hiring to supervise daily lot operations and lead the team responsible for staging and moving vehicles before and during sales. You will oversee check-in flows, lane assignments, and staff coordination to keep operations efficient and accurate.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist with lot operations daily to ensure efficient operations before and after sale.
  • Supervise vehicle check-in area and supervise lot drivers and staff.
  • Coordinate movement of vehicles from check-in to sale lanes and ensure proper placement.
  • Provide quality service and interact with customers to resolve problems.
  • Inspect and maintain lot operations equipment; ensure functionality.
  • Monitor lot damage and review issues with Operations Manager.
  • Coordinate with Reconditioning, Check-in, Factory and Fleet/Lease to prepare vehicles for sale.
  • Direct work procedures, schedules, and monitor accuracy and policy conformance.
  • Assist manager with counseling, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions.
  • Model safety behaviors and support Safety Excellence initiatives.
  • Review volumes, staffing, performance metrics; plan improvements.

Job description

This position supervises and directs the daily activities of the lot personnel and the lot operations function for the Auction and ensures the efficient, orderly and proper staging and moving of vehicles on the lot and through the sales lanes.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with lot operations on a daily basis to ensure efficient operations prior to and after sale.
  • Supervise the daily operation of the vehicle check-in area by supervising and coordinating the activities and the workflow of the sale lot drivers, check-in personnel, lane captains and other lot operations employees.
  • Ensure efficient lot operations by coordinating the movement of vehicles from check-in to the sale lanes. Supervise flow to ensure that incoming vehicles are received, stocked-in, numerated and parked in the proper areas.
  • Provide quality service and interact with customers to resolve any problems that may occur.
  • Inspect and maintain lot operations equipment and ensure that it is functional and in good working condition.
  • Monitor lot damage and meet with Operations Manager on a regular basis to review and resolve potential lot operations problems.
  • Coordinate with Reconditioning, Check-in, Factory and Fleet/Lease departments to schedule and prepare vehicles for sale, ensure accurate and efficient vehicle check in and proper sequence of vehicles.
  • Supervise and direct the work of lot operations employees by determining work procedures, preparing work schedules, expediting the workflow, assigning duties and monitoring work for accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Assist manager in counseling and disciplining employees as necessary. Under the direction of the manager, plan, monitor and evaluate employee job performance, and assist manager in conducting performance appraisals.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Work with manager to review work volumes, plan and continuously monitor staffing levels to ensure efficiency, quality work product, and effective customer service; review departmental performance against key performance indicators and metrics and develop and execute strategies for improvement.
  • Effectively leads the team at the location by setting an example in behavior, championing Cox/Manheim values and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.
  • Enforce all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 3 years' experience in a related field; a master's degree and 1 year of experience; or a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb
  • Manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Preferred
  • 1 year of experience in management, supervisory, or lead role
  • 3 years experience in Lot Operations
  • Experience in automobile industry or the Auction business
  • Competent supervisory and organizational skills
  • AS400 knowledge
Work Environment
  • This position is based onsite at Grove City, OH
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts hazard, electrical shock hazard and toxic or caustic chemicals. Moderate noise level. Exposure to all weather conditions 80% of the time.

USD 50,400.00 - 75,600.00 per year

Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $50,400.00 - $75,600.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Benefits

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.
