Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to supervise and coordinate the laboratory operation during the assigned shift, ensuring quality patient care and efficient resource utilization.

The role requires 6 years of CLS experience and a California CLS Generalist license. The position includes variable shift times, weekend as needed, and no on-call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the laboratory staff on the assigned shift.
• Coordinates staff and resources to meet lab turn around time and other performance goals.
• Maintains safe, clean working environment including unit-based safety and infection control requirements.
• Assists lab management to ensure high level of professional practice and maintains lab services according to policies, procedures and standards.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $51.010 - $62.490 - $73.960

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.

What You Will Do

Supervises and coordinates the clinical operation of the laboratory during the assigned shift to ensure the provision of quality patient care. This position is accountable for staffing coordination and resource utilization of the assigned shift(s) to ensure the delivery of laboratory services to meet organizational strategic goals.

Required Qualifications

• Other Meets education requirements for CLS license.
• 6 Years recent experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in a clinical laboratory.
• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) Generalist license - CA Department of Public Health -REQUIRED

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 Years experience in a leadership position is preferred.

Essential Functions

  Helps to identify barriers to the achievement of service goals.
  Identifies issues and recurrent problems that lead to the staff's inability to effectively improve clinical outcomes or work efficiently. Collaborates with the laboratory management to provide solutions and resources for resolution.
  Assists lab management to ensure high level of professional practice and maintains lab services according to policies, procedures and standards.
  Assists lab management in quality and safety requirements and initiatives of the clinical laboratory.
  Performs additional duties as may be assigned by the Operations Manager.
