Job summary

Dignity Health's California Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles seeks a Lab Supervisor to lead a dedicated patient-care team, drive annual goals, and manage budget responsibly. The position requires leadership experience in a high‑complexity lab, a MT license, and CLIA‑compliant education, with an emphasis on safety and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical sciences (CLIA defined).
• Minimum five years in a moderate or high complexity laboratory.
• Medical Technologist license.
• Fire Safety training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coaches, and reviews the performance of laboratory personnel to ensure adherence to policies and ethics.
• Oversees day-to-day laboratory operations and personnel decisions.
• Analyzes and interprets laboratory results per established processes.
• Manages laboratory inventories of supplies, equipment and consumables.
• Selects test methodologies appropriate for clinical use of results.
• Verifies procedures and establishes test performance characteristics including precision and accuracy.

• Supervises, coaches, and reviews the performance of laboratory personnel to ensure adherence to relevant policies and ethics

• Oversees designated laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over personnel decisions

• Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes

• Administers laboratory inventories such as supplies, equipment and consumables

• Selection of test methodology that is appropriate for the clinical use of the test results

• Verification of the test procedures performed and establishment of the laboratory's test performance characteristics, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system

Job Requirements

Required

• Bachelors Other in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA.

• Minimum of five years at a moderate or high complexity laboratory.

• Medical Technologist - License

• Fire Safety, within 90 Days

Preferred

• One year experience as a supervisor or higher

Pay Range

$54.52 - $81.10 /hour
