Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical sciences (CLIA defined) required.
• Minimum five years in a moderate or high complexity laboratory.
• Clinical Lab Scientist: CA license/credential.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, coaches, and reviews lab personnel to ensure policy and ethics.
• Oversees day-to-day lab operations and personnel decisions.
• Analyzes and interprets lab results per established processes.
• Manages lab inventories of supplies, equipment and consumables.
• Selects test methodologies appropriate for clinical use of results.
• Verifies procedures and establishes test performance characteristics.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Lab Supervisor, you will be a pivotal leader, directly contributing to the development of annual departmental goals, objectives, and budget, while actively facilitating their achievement and ensuring ongoing evaluation of results for continuous improvement.

• Supervises, coaches, and reviews the performance of laboratory personnel to ensure adherence to relevant policies and ethics
• Oversees designated laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over personnel decisions
• Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes
• Administers laboratory inventories such as supplies, equipment and consumables
• Selection of test methodology that is appropriate for the clinical use of the test results
• Verification of the test procedures performed and establishment of the laboratory's test performance characteristics, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system

Job Requirements

Required:

• Bachelors in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA
• Minimum of five (5) years at a moderate or high complexity laboratory
• Clinical Lab Scientist:CA

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training:

• Job duties require administrative skill and leadership qualities.
• Familiarity with financial management, Human Resources, Equipment Management, Quality Management, Physician Relations, Workflow Design are key skills to be successful.
• Excellent communication skills are needed to influence staff and to support internal and external customers.
• Extensive knowledge in state and federal regulations is needed to ensure ongoing compliance.

Preferred:

• One year experience as a supervisor or higher
