Vast Space Llc. seeks an Integration Supervisor in Long Beach, CA, to lead a team of integration technicians in building space station hardware.

You will supervise multi-step assembly, ensure adherence to engineering standards, and coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering to meet critical milestones. The role requires senior-level hands-on experience, strong safety practices, and the ability to work overtime as needed to support flight builds.

Qualifications

Vast is developing next-generation space stations and space infrastructure using an incremental, hardware-rich, and low-cost approach. Vast is rapidly developing its multi-module Haven Station to ensure a continuous human presence in space for America and its allies, enabling advanced microgravity research and manufacturing, and unlocking a new space economy for government, corporate, and private customers. Haven Demo’s 2025 success made Vast the only operational commercial space station company to fly and operate its own spacecraft. Next, Haven‑1 is expected to become the world’s first commercial space station when it launches in 2027, followed by additional Haven modules. Additionally, the company recently announced Vast Satellite, a high‑power satellite product line leveraging its space station components and the heritage of Haven Demo.

Vast is looking for an Integration Supervisor, reporting to the Integration Production Manager, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial‑gravity human‑rated space stations.

This will be a full‑time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily shift activities for a team of integration technicians, maintaining clear tasking, priorities, and workflow execution
• Facilitate effective shift handoffs between 1st and 2nd shifts to ensure continuous execution and alignment across critical path builds
• Train, mentor, onboard, and develop integration technicians, ensuring skill progression and compliance with technical standards
• Manage workforce allocation, schedule balancing, and technician time tracking to meet program milestones
• Supervise hands‑on integration of flight hardware across structural assembly, fluid/pneumatic routing, avionics harness installation, and component mating
• Ensure strict adherence to engineering work instructions, technical drawings, schematics, and aerospace quality specifications
• Partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Responsible Engineers to identify blockers, resolve non‑conformances, and disposition issue tickets promptly
• Promote Design‑for‑Manufacturing (DFM) feedback loops, collaborating with engineering to improve work instruction clarity, tooling, and build efficiency

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in aerospace integration, mechanical assembly, or high‑reliability hardware manufacturing
• 2+ years of direct experience leading, coordinating, or supervising technicians in a production, laboratory, or cleanroom environment
• Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering assembly drawings, electrical schematics, harness routing layouts, and work instructions
• Hands‑on proficiency with precision measuring equipment, torque tools, pneumatic/fluid lines, and specialized mechanical hand tools
• Strong understanding of workplace safety practices, ESD containment, and aerospace quality management principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional engineering and management teams

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience leading multi‑shift operations in a fast‑paced aerospace hardware manufacturing or development environment
• Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP platforms, and collaborative tools (Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace)
• Direct experience with vehicle closeout operations, high‑pressure pneumatic testing, leak checks, or propulsion subassembly integration

Additional Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs unassisted
• Ability to work in cleanroom environments, climb ladders, navigate tight vehicle bays, and stand for extended periods
• Flexibility to work overtime, non‑standard shifts (including 2nd shift), or weekends as required to support critical flight build milestones
• Ability to travel up to 10–25% to support test site or launch facility operations if needed

Pay Range: California

$96,000 - $137,000 USD
