Job summary

WM is seeking a 2nd Shift Supervisor for its single stream recycling operation in New York. You will oversee daily plant operations from 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays, focusing on production improvements, safety, and cost control.

You will manage logistics, supervise staff, coordinate workflows, train employees, enforce policies, and prepare weekly and month-end reports for senior management. A high school diploma and 4 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited).
  • 4 years of previous experience (in addition to education requirement).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily plant operations and maintain inventory for safety and supplies.
  • Ensure quality and timeliness; enforce policies and procedures.
  • Manage plant logistics and production; record finished goods; order supplies as needed.
  • Supervise production staff; coordinate workflow toward operational goals.
  • Oversee safety, coaching, training, and performance evaluations; provide input on termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
  • Investigate, review, and enforce safety regulations and company policies.
  • Prepare weekly and month-end reports for senior management.

2nd Shift Supervisor - Single Stream Recycling
Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM, with rotating Saturdays.

Preferred Experience:
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Experience in recycling, manufacturing, waste management, or industrial operations preferred

I. Job Summary

Supervises daily operations in order to improve production, maintain costs, and ensure safety.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages daily (plant) operations and maintains inventory for safety and operation supplies.

  • Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.

  • Manages (plant) logistics and materials; supervises daily production; enters finished goods into inventory; orders supplies as needed.

  • Supervises production staff and coordinates workflow and assignments toward the achievement of operational goals.

  • Oversees operations personnel needs including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.

  • Investigates, reviews and controls implementation of safety regulations and company policies and procedures.

  • Creates and submits weekly and month end reports to senior management.

A. Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited)

  • 4 years of previous experience (in addition to education requirement)

  • Mobile Equipment Operator, CPR First Aid
