Job summary

WM is seeking a 2nd Shift Supervisor for the Single Stream Recycling facility in Florida. The role supervises daily operations to improve production, maintain costs, and ensure safety, with a Monday–Friday schedule 2:30 PM–1:00 AM and rotating Saturdays.

You will lead plant staff, manage inventory, and enforce quality and safety policies. Responsibilities include overseeing logistics, coaching and evaluating staff, preparing weekly/monthly reports for senior management, and ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• 4 years of previous supervisory experience
• High School Diploma or GED and related experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Experience in recycling, manufacturing, waste management, or industrial operations preferred

Responsibilities

• Manages daily plant operations and maintains inventory for safety and operations supplies
• Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality and timeliness, enforcing policies
• Manages plant logistics and materials; supervises production; records finished goods in inventory
• Supervises production staff and coordinates workflow toward operational goals
• Oversees staffing needs including coaching, training, and evaluating performance; participates in termination/compensation decisions
• Investigates safety regulations and company policies; ensures compliance
• Creates and submits weekly and month-end reports to senior management

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages daily (plant) operations and maintains inventory for safety and operation supplies.
• Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures.
• Manages (plant) logistics and materials; supervises daily production; enters finished goods into inventory; orders supplies as needed.
• Supervises production staff and coordinates workflow and assignments toward the achievement of operational goals.
• Oversees operations personnel needs including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.
• Investigates, reviews and controls implementation of safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
• Creates and submits weekly and month end reports to senior management.

• 4 years of previous experience (in addition to education requirement)

Preferred Qualifications

• Mobile Equipment Operator, CPR First Aid
