Job summary

The State of Nevada, Department of Corrections, seeks a Supervisor 1, Prison Industries, located at Northern Nevada Correctional Center Ranch in Carson City. The role oversees inmate-driven production, cost control, and staffing to ensure profitable, compliant operations.

Emphasis on safety, supervision, and program efficiency. Incumbents manage and train subordinate supervisors, develop procedures, and allocate resources to meet goals, while applying knowledge of horse training-related settings

Qualifications

Three or more years of applicable experience as described in the job duties with a minimum of one-year supervisory experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent education is required.

Responsibilities

Supervise the performance of inmates in manufacturing goods or providing services.
Maintain adequate levels of raw materials.
Review and interpret operational financial statements, develop and maintain shipping strategies, and determine and prepare product cost and price estimates.
Plan production schedules and allocate staff to meet production goals.
Inspect work in progress and finished goods to ensure products meet production schedules and quality standards.
Prepare and maintain accounting records and reports.
