Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain gas measurement equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and emergency responses.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local codes.
  • Respond to AMR system drops/disconnections and perform repairs as required.
  • Plan, monitor, and perform preventative maintenance; track schedules in the Work Management System (WMS).
  • Provide emergency response maintenance and on-site troubleshooting for gas measurement equipment.
  • Maintain and repair communication links between field devices and corporate databases.
  • Install modifications to facilities per engineering designs; integrate SCADA, telemetry, and odorization systems.
  • Ensure calibration documentation complies with engineering principles and policies.

HOW YOU’LL HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NATURAL GAS?

I&C Technician performs installation, maintenance, repair, and calibration tasks on Company’s gas measurement equipment including but not limited to large meters, meter indexes/instrumentation and volume correctors, industrial AMR devices, and SCADA equipment. In addition, this role coordinates all gate station instrumentation and control installations within assigned territory. Will be covering from Jupiter to Miami, FL area.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
  • Minimum of High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years instrumentation & control experience is required. In lieu of direct I & C experience, other related electrical work or measurement and regulation experience may be considered.
  • Good understanding of electrical and electronic principles.
  • Working knowledge of the D.O.T. requirements.
  • Strong Technical ability.

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain high customer satisfaction through high systems availability with timely and accurate data and minimum system downtime.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to individuals internal and external of PGS.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinates all gate station instrumentation and control installations with division and corporate personnel within assigned territory.
  • Installs and maintains gas measurement equipment including but not limited to large meters, meter indexes and correctors, industrial AMR devices, and SCADA equipment.
  • Performs accuracy testing and performs calibration adjustments on gas measurement equipment such as meter instrumentation and meter volume correctors; Completes maintenance and calibration adjustments, as needed, on SCADA field equipment; Verifies programming configuration of SCADA Remote Terminal Units, electronic meter correctors, and industrial AMR units.
  • Responds to industrial AMR (Automated Meter Reading) system dropped/disconnected calls, making repairs to AMR or telecommunication equipment as required.
  • Plans, monitors and performs preventative maintenance as determined and scheduled during testing. Tracks maintenance schedules in the Work Management System (WMS).
  • Performs emergency response maintenance as needed, conducting on-site troubleshooting and corrective measures to gas measurement equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the communication link between field devices and corporate database servers.
  • Constructs new facilities and installs modifications to existing facilities according to PGS Engineering designs and instructions. Works with division and corporate personnel in the installation of electrical and electronic interfaces for SCADA, telemetry, electronic measurement, chromatograph and odorization systems. Replaces field electronic equipment to insure effective integration.
  • Completes all required calibration documentation utilizing the work management system and ensures procedures follow accepted engineering principles and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all field facilities related to gas distribution and transmission pipelines comply with Federal, State and local electrical codes.
  • Works closely with and monitors the work performed by outside contractors, power and telephone utilities.

  • Requires working outdoors for extended periods of time.
  • Requires working overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays, in response to gas emergencies.
  • Requires working Call Out and Stand-by schedule on a rotating basis.

  • Must be able to independently ingress/egress and operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner.
