Job summary

The Freeman Company’s Event & Exhibit Services team in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Supervisor Freight Operations to oversee dock labor, equipment needs, and labor planning for shows. This in‑person, full‑time role requires coordinating with customers, exhibitors, and internal teams to ensure timely, safe, and cost‑effective operations.

You will supervise dock crews, lead safety meetings, track labor budgets, and manage post‑show recaps.

Qualifications

• College Degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent accepted.
• 2+ years related experience; 2+ years supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with material handling rates, show rules and regulations.
• Proficient in Freeman programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• MVR screening required; OSHA safety knowledge beneficial.
• OSHA safety knowledge and safety program experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and conduct regular safety meetings.
• Coordinate with Facility Manager on show rules and regulations.
• Arrange equipment, rigging and operators for shows.

Summary

It is the responsibility of the Supervisor Freight Operations to supervise the freight operation and all dock labor at the show site at all facilities in which the company produces events. Plans for assigned shows including the labor, equipment, job assignments of qualified labor, hours of operation, paperwork procedures, timekeeping, and job cost. Responsible for handling the show site freight operation personally and/or supervision of the freight lead to efficiently perform all assigned duties. Professionally interacts with customers, team members, and third‑party vendor/partner representatives to provide the highest level of service excellence.

This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. The position follows an in‑person schedule working full‑time in‑office and/or show‑site based out of Las Vegas, NV.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise dock labor at the show site by assigning qualified personnel to efficiently perform all duties in accordance with standard practices. Assist in the training of all dock labor.
• Provide direction to all subordinates to ensure a safe work environment. Conduct safety and service meetings on a regular basis.
• Interact with the Facility Manager for the assigned show to ensure all facility rules and regulations are adhered to.
• Determine the needs and request equipment, tools and labor required to produce each show event. Ensure the location of all rigging and machinery. Order and supervise all drivers and machine operators and related equipment such as cranes and large capacity forklifts.
• Communicate with decorating operations and the account executive on the scheduled move in and move out of each show.
• Work closely with customers throughout the event to ensure quality standards are met. Analyzes and explains invoices to customers and contact exhibitors regarding shortages, damages or re‑routes on outbound shipment.
• Project labor and analyze labor using the labor budget tool. Produce accurate payroll forms, timecards or timekeeping system for all labor worked on shows.
• Complete a post‑show recap after the show is completed.
• Ensure job cost is kept to a minimum without sacrificing services to all customers.
• Ensure all equipment is retuned from show site to warehouse.
• Communicate and reinforce company safety objectives, programs, and policies within the team. Ensure employees complete required training and understand their safety responsibilities.
• Maintain compliance with company safety policies and applicable OSHA regulations.
• Investigate and document workplace accidents, near misses, and hazards promptly, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Lead by example by encouraging open communication on safety concerns and fostering accountability for maintaining a safe work environment.
• Track and review safety performance metrics, using insights to support decision-making and corrective actions.

Education & Experience

• College Degree preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of industry related experience preferred.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a related field preferred.
• Familiarity with current material handling rates, show rules and regulations, association requirements and pertinent information for a show.
• Ability to perform basic computer function in Freeman programs. Experience and versed in programs such as, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to pass an MVR screen.
• Working knowledge of workplace safety practices and applicable OSHA requirements.

OSHA 30 Certification required.
