Job summary

MetalTek International has an opportunity in its Petro-chemical Foundry for a hands-on 3rd Shift Foundry Supervisor who will oversee safety, quality, productivity, and cost for the 3rd shift. Flexibility to cover 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts is required, with leadership over hiring, training, and daily activities of direct reports.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of foundry experience, 3 years of supervisory experience, and an engineering or technical degree or equivalent foundry

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of foundry experience.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
• Experience in employee training.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety, quality, productivity, and cost for the 3rd shift.
• Coordinate hiring, training, and day-to-day activities of direct reports.
• Investigate issues and implement corrective actions to reduce non-conforming parts.
• Provide flexibility to cover 1st/2nd/3rd shifts as needed.

Job description

We have an opportunity in our Petro-chemical Foundry for a hands-on 3rd Shift Foundry Supervisor. The position is responsible for safety, quality, productivity, and cost of the 3rd shift operation. Have the flexibility to work 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts as needed. This includes investigation of problems to ensure proper corrective action is implemented to reduce or eliminate non-conforming parts and production interruptions. This position is also responsible for managing all hiring, training and day to day activities of direct reports in order to attain Department goals.

To be successful the candidate should have the following attributes, skills, or experience:

• A minimum of 5 years foundry experience.
• A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
• An undergraduate Engineering degree, or a four-year Technical degree is preferred, or the equivalent in Foundry related experience plus coursework.
• Experience in employee training.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S programs
• Basic computer skills (Knowledge of Excel & Word)
