Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Hospital Food Service Supervisor to coordinate department development and support operations across the kitchen, cafeteria, catering, Patient Call Center and Patient Room Service. The role collaborates with leadership to deliver continuous excellent service to patients, guests, and co-workers.

Under Food Services management, the supervisor plans, organizes, staffs and directs operations while maintaining Mercy Service Standards and core values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of lead or supervisory experience may substitute formal education.
• Preferred: Associate degree or higher.
• Preferred: 2 years in food service, acute care, or hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate department development and assist in planning, organizing, staffing and directing operations.
• Supervise staff across kitchen, cafeteria, catering, Patient Call Center and Patient Room Service.
• Ensure service standards and patient/guest satisfaction in collaboration with leadership.

Under the supervision of Food Services management, the Hospital Food Service Supervisor has the responsibility within Food and Nutrition Services to assist in the coordination of department development as well as with planning, organizing, staffing and supporting the direction of operations and personnel in the kitchen, cafeteria, catering, Patient Call Center and Patient Room Service. In collaboration with all leadership, a combination of core and secondary responsibilities are achieved in order to provide continuous excellent service to Mercy patients, guests and co-workers. Supervisor performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Education: High school Diploma or equivalent. In lieu of education, at least 2 years of lead or leadership experience may be considered.

Preferred Education: Associates Degree or above.

Preferred Experience: 2 years experience in food service, acute care, or hospitality setting.

Certifications:

Washington: Serve Safe Manager within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Certifications:

Washington: Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)
