Position Overview
The Culinary Supervisor position is crucial to the daily operations. This role involves executing the daily and weekly menu according to company recipe specifications and overseeing the commissary's day-to-day functions. Main responsibilities include preparing engaging meals following Genuine Foods recipes, leading a team of cooks, managing daily prep, and ensuring all food safety and sanitation standards are met.
- Ensure food safety standards are followed at all times.
- Cook and prep food accurately based on recipes and specifications provided by the Chef/Genuine Foods.
- Communicate with the Food Service Director on any pertinent issues with product, staffing, timing, etc.
- Manage cooks and assistant supervisors, ensuring they follow Genuine Foods' standards and recipes while providing guidance and training.
- Maintain standards outlined by the Department of Health for a food-safe environment and report any issues immediately, such as equipment or facilities-related problems.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure all food is prepared on time for delivery.
- Maintain a clean working environment and assist the team with additional cleaning duties.
- Keep the area stocked and organized.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
- Must be flexible and team-oriented.
- 3+ years of line cook or culinary experience.
- 1+ year of management experience.
- Willingness to learn the compliance requirements of the USDA National School Lunch Program.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and level-headedness.
- Punctual and able to adhere to the time and attendance policy.
- Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.
