Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a floor care supervisor to oversee the floor care team at multiple sites. You will supervise, train, schedule, and ensure safe, effective cleaning, stripping and waxing, and maintenance of floor equipment.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least three years in a related field, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background checks. You should be prepared to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

• 3 Years' experience in a related field required.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.
• Valid state driver's license, insurance and satisfactory driving record are required.
• Associates will pass criminal background and sex offender checks.
• No computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise floor care team and direct efforts as provided by management.
• Train associates in floor care, cleaning techniques, and safety practices.
• Perform floor work at contract sites and Goodwill locations, including stripping and waxing, dust mopping, and buffing.
• Clean floor equipment after use and report repairs as needed.
• Drive company van/truck to transport equipment to offsite work areas.
• May perform dusting and restroom cleaning as needed.

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia

Provide supervision and training to associates in the performance of floor care duties and perform floor stripping/waxing as requested by the Director, Sr. Manager or Multi-Site Manager

Essential Duties (Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)

1. Supervise floor care team and direct efforts as provided by the Multi-Site Manager, Sr. Manager or Director.
2. Train associates in floor care and janitorial skills, proper cleaning techniques and schedules, usage and conservation of supplies, operation of equipment, safety practices, and other company rules and regulations.
3. Responsible for floor work at contract sites and Goodwill retail locations according to schedule established by Director, Sr. Manager or Multi-Site Manager. This includes dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping and waxing, buffing, carpet extraction and other floor care duties as needed.
4. Cleans floor equipment after each use and perform routine maintenance as needed. Notifies supervisor of any equipment needing repair.
5. Drive company van/truck to transport equipment to offsite work areas.
6. May be required to perform the following on an as needed basis, dusting, restroom cleaning

The associate in this position has supervisory responsibility for designated associates in their department.

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions

• The associate is required to lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• The associate works in a moderate work environment with occasional exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
• The associate is required to travel throughout the Goodwill service area.
• The associate may be required to provide assistance with snow removal.
• The associate must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
• Assists in special jobs, during scheduled work hours and on weekends, as requested by the manager.
