Job summary

GOODWILL OF CENTRAL AND COASTAL VIRGINIA INC is seeking a Lead Floor Technician (Construction) for an overnight shift, 9:30 pm to 5:00 am, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work in the Richmond area.

Responsibilities include assisting the Floor Technician Supervisor, training associates in floor care, performing stripping/waxing, and managing floor care at multiple Goodwill sites. The role also involves driving the company van, monitoring supplies, and routine equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED not required.
• 2 Years' experience in a related field required.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.
• Valid state driver's license, insurance, and satisfactory driving record are required.
• Associates in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check and sex offender check.
• No computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Floor Technician Supervisor with directing the floor care team, ensuring tasks are completed and high-quality standards are achieved.
• Assist with training associates in floor care and janitorial skills, proper cleaning techniques and schedules, and safe operation of equipment.
• Drive the company van/truck to transport equipment to off-site work areas.
• Responsible for floor work at Goodwill sites throughout the Richmond area according to the schedule established by the manager.
• Monitor the use of supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as needed.
• Clean floor equipment after each use and perform routine maintenance as needed.
• May be required to perform dusting or restroom cleaning on an as-needed basis.

Lead Floor Technician (Construction)

Position Summary

Assist the Floor Technician Supervisor with training associates in the performance of floor care duties and perform floor stripping/waxing as requested by the Multi-Site Manager, Sr. Manager, or Director.

Essential Duties(Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)

• 1. Assist the Floor Technician Supervisor with directing the floor care team, ensuring tasks are completed, and high-quality standards are achieved. When the supervisor is absent, cover their shift and be able to manage their daily tasks.
• 2. Assist the Floor Technician Supervisor with training associates in floor care and janitorial skills, proper cleaning techniques and schedules, usage and conservation of supplies, operation of equipment, safety practices, and other company rules and regulations.
• 3. Drive the company van/truck to transport equipment to off-site work areas.
• 4. Responsible for floor work at Goodwill sites throughout the Richmond area according to the schedule established by the manager. This includes dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping and waxing, buffing, carpet extraction, and other floor care duties as needed.
• 5. Monitor the use of supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as needed.
• 6. Clean floor equipment after each use and perform routine maintenance as needed. Notify the supervisor of any equipment needed repair.
• 7. May be required to perform the following on an as-needed basis: dusting, restroom cleaning.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The associate in this position has supervisory responsibility for designated associates in their department.

Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions

The associate is required to lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The associate works in a moderate work environment with occasional exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.). The associate is required to travel throughout the Goodwill service area. The associate may be required to provide assistance with snow removal. The associate must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate. Assists in special jobs, during scheduled work hours and on weekends, as requested by the manager.
