Job summary

Dycom Industries, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Splicing Supervisor to coordinate field operations for FTTH OSP fiber construction. You will supervise crews, inspect work, and ensure compliance with company, state, and federal standards while maintaining safety and quality.

The role requires strong knowledge of fiber telecommunications construction, splicing equipment, and project-management fundamentals, with the ability to forecast resources and communicate progress to customers.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in the fiber/telecom/construction industry.
  • Supervision of construction or splicing crews; familiarity with splicing instruments.
  • Project management skills: planning, organizing, coordinating tasks.
  • Strong Microsoft Office computer skills.
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license; background check and drug test.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

  • Supervise, develop, and provide leadership to employees of assigned departments or projects.
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite fiber construction to monitor compliance and safety regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with customers to inform them of project progress, issues and projected completion dates.
  • Review tasks and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with managers to maximize new opportunities for revenue.
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings.

Overview:
A successful Fiber Splicing Supervisor shall be responsible for coordinating and managing field operations for
Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) OSP Fiber Construction. Supervise, inspect, and monitor all work in conformance
with the company, local and federal standards, and specifications. At a minimum, the position requires a good
working knowledge of Fiber Telecommunications Construction, familiarity with splicing equipment, and
knowledge of management reporting fundamentals.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities:

What you’ll need

Qualifications:
3+ of experience in the fiber / telecommunications / telecom construction industry
Supervision of construction and/or splicing crews, familiarity with instruments used to splice, test and/or
run trouble on outside plant fiber cabling, and knowledge of management reporting fundamentals
Project management skills include planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks
Strong Microsoft Office computer skills
Able to multitask and prioritize.
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have a valid unrestricted driver's license of at least 2 years.
Must pass a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle check.
Authorized to work in the United States

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and may be subject to adverse conditions such as high
humidity, high temperatures, high wind, extreme cold, rain, sleet, and snow. The outside work environment
will vary throughout the workday including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings and/or rural settings.
The employee is occasionally exposed to natural gas and to the risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Scheduling:
Must be available to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
