Job summary

Medxcel is hiring for a facilities role in Burnet, TX, at Seton Highland Lakes Hospital within the Facilities department. The position is dayshift, full-time, supporting safe and efficient operations across building systems and equipment.

The role requires five years of hands-on experience in large facility maintenance, with preferred supervisory background in healthcare settings and knowledge of Joint Commission and NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years’ experience in maintenance/operation of a large facility.
• Preferred: three years supervisory experience in healthcare facilities.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission, NFPA, and state/federal healthcare facility regs.

Responsibilities

• Supports facilities operations by managing building systems, maintenance, grounds, energy use, and equipment inventories.
• Oversees staffing activities including scheduling, training, and daily work assignments.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory and safety standards (e.g., TJC), including audits and inspections.
• Manages vendor and contractor relationships, including project coordination, bid processes, and monitoring performance for repairs, maintenance, and capital projects.
• Supports budget management by reviewing purchase requests and coordinating with vendors and Purchasing, and ensuring alignment with financial and operational goals.
• Drives process improvement and strong communication with internal stakeholders, vendors, and leadership.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Education:

• Requirement of High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• Five years’ experience in the maintenance and operation of a physical plant and/or building maintenance for a large facility.

Preferred Experience:

• Three years’ experience in a large, multi-campus healthcare system.
• Three years’ supervisory experience.
• Knowledge and experience with Joint Commission, NFPA, state and federal regulations for healthcare facilities.
