Job summary

Medxcel is seeking a skilled Facilities Technician in Burnet, TX, within Seton Highland Lakes Hospital. The role focuses on diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing complex utility systems, including boilers, steam, and industrial air conditioning, with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

You will troubleshoot, service, and install a wide range of equipment, using specialized tools, welding torches, and fabrication gear.

Qualifications

  • Trade school graduate or equivalent with 3+ years maintenance experience.
  • Experience maintaining complex utility systems and facilities.
  • Ability to lead safety training and audits, and document compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs complex utility systems (steam, water treatment, boilers, HVAC).
  • Troubleshoots and installs equipment (motors, pumps, commercial/lab appliances).
  • Uses hand/power tools and fabrication equipment for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and pipe-fitting work.
  • Maintains compliance with local, state, federal, and Joint Commission standards via safety audits and documentation.
  • Leads project activities, coordinates orientations, conducts safety training, SME on life safety codes.

Responsibilities

How you’ll make an impact in this role



  • Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs complex utility systems, including central steam, chemical water treatment, boilers, and industrial air conditioning/compressor systems.

  • Troubleshoots, services, and installs a wide array of equipment, including electric motors, pumps, commercial/lab appliances, and facility motor vehicles.

  • Utilizes specialized hand/power tools, welding torches, and fabrication equipment to perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and pipe-fitting work across the facility.

  • Assists in maintaining strict compliance with local, State, Federal, and Joint Commission (TJC) standards by conducting safety audits, drills, and managing official regulatory documentation.

  • Leads special projects, coordinates department orientations, conducts employee safety training, and serves as the internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) on healthcare facility maintenance and life safety codes.


Qualifications

Must have one or more of the following:



  • Graduate of trade school and 3 years’ experience

  • 5 years’ relevant experience

  • Other equivalent combination of relevant education or experience
