Job summary

Atlantic Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Services Supervisor for the Housekeeping department. Hours vary, including weekends and holidays. Starting rate is $30.21/hr (salaried). The role entails guiding staff, scheduling, training, and ensuring sanitation across patient areas.

The supervisor will coordinate with the manager, monitor cleanliness standards, and participate in performance appraisals and tasks related to staffing changes and salary adjustments.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.
• Must be able to bend/lift/push/pull at least 50 lbs.
• Must be on your feet for extended periods.
• 1-2 years hospital housekeeping experience; 2-3 years supervisory/management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrange with Environmental Services Manager for special activities and set‑ups.
• Receive work assignments from the Manager.
• Establish daily staff schedules with Manager for routine and special tasks.
• Assign duties, issue supplies/equipment and inspect work.
• Work with staff and maintain cleanliness standards in patient and hospital areas.
• Train employees in cleaning methods and equipment use; explain material efficiency.
• Support performance appraisals and personnel actions (hours changes, salary changes, etc.).
• Apply sanitation and safety regulations and monitor isolation techniques.
• Coordinate trash removal from grounds/entrances and inspect daily.
• Report repairs/maintenance needs and follow up for completion.

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Services Supervisor for the Environmental Services Department (Housekeeping). Required hours vary (variable shift based on department needs/volume), including weekends and holidays. Starting rate: $30.21/hr (salaried).

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Arrange with the Environmental Services Manager for any special activity functions such as Auditoriums and other set-up etc.
• Receives work assignments from the Manager.
• Establishes daily work schedule for the staff along with the Manager for special and routine assignments.
• Assigns duties to the staff, issues supplies and equipment, and inspects completed work.
• Works with the staff.
• Maintains established standards of cleanliness within patient and other hospital areas.
• Trains employees by demonstrating use of cleaning material and equipment; explains methods of cleaning and most economical use of materials and manpower.
• Participates in the performance appraisal of employees as well as personnel actions (i.e. hours changes, termination's, salary changes, etc.).
• Applies knowledge of all job assignments and cleaning procedures and use of equipment in the work assignment.
• Applies a knowledge of isolation techniques and follows up to assure that sanitation and safety regulations are followed.
• Coordinates the removal of trash from grounds and entrances and inspects these areas daily.
• Reports the need for repairs and maintenance. Follows up for completion.

Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Bachelor's Degree a plus.
• To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to bend/lift/push/pull at least 50lbs.
• Must be able to be on your feet for an extended period of time.

Relevant Experience:

• Great customer service/people skills preferred.
• 1-2 years of hospital housekeeping experience/worked as a hospital housekeeper preferred.
• 2-3 years of housekeeping supervisory/management experience in an acute care hospital environment preferred.
• Strong computer (Excel, Word and Power Point) skills a must.
