Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Services Supervisor for the Environmental Services Department. Starting rate is $30.21/hr with a variable shift based on department needs, including weekends and holidays. This role requires a HS Diploma or GED and English fluency.

Ideal candidates will have 1–2 years of hospital housekeeping experience and 2–3 years of supervisory experience in an acute care setting. Bachelor's degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree a plus.
• To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to bend/lift/push/pull at least 50lbs.
• Must be able to be on your feet for an extended period of time.

Responsibilities

• Arrange with the Environmental Services Manager for any special activity functions such as Auditoriums and other set-up etc.
• Receives work assignments from the Manager.
• Establishes daily work schedule for the staff along with the Manager for special and routine assignments.
• Assigns duties to the staff, issues supplies and equipment, and inspects completed work.
• Works with the staff.
• Maintains established standards of cleanliness within patient and other hospital areas.
• Trains employees by demonstrating use of cleaning material and equipment; explains methods of cleaning and most economical use of materials and manpower.
• Participates in the performance appraisal of employees as well as personnel actions (i.e. hours changes, termination's, salary changes, etc.).
• Applies knowledge of all job assignments and cleaning procedures and use of equipment in the work assignment.
• Applies a knowledge of isolation techniques and follows up to assure that sanitation and safety regulations are followed.
• Coordinates the removal of trash from grounds and entrances and inspects these areas daily.
• Reports the need for repairs and maintenance. Follows up for completion.

Relevant Experience

• Great customer service/people skills preferred.
• 1-2 years of hospital housekeeping experience/worked as a hospital housekeeper preferred.
• 2-3 years of housekeeping supervisory/management experience in an acute care hospital environment preferred.
