Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. The required hours are 3:00PM - 11:00PM, including every other weekend. Starting rate is $18.50/hr.

The role involves cleaning nursing units, patient rooms and various facility areas following established policies for cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization. Prior housekeeping experience in hospital or institutional settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Cleans nursing units, patient rooms and designated areas with proper equipment.
• Follows cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization procedures.
• Cleans up spills and responds to pages promptly.
• Restocks housekeeping carts and removes trash/linens.
• Follows handling procedures for biohazard materials.
• Reports repairs to maintenance and attends department meetings.
• Handles moderately complex issues and assists higher-level staff.
• Cleans bodily fluids and performs related duties.

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Required hours are 3:00PM - 11:00PM, including every other weekend. Starting rate $18.50/hr.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc.
• Follows the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
• Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
• Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
• Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
• Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials.
• Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
• Reports any repairs to maintenance.
• Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
• Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Relevant Experience:

• Prior experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institutional setting preferred.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality or relevant area preferred.
