Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking an Environmental Services Supervisor II to lead the Environmental Services department. You will oversee operations, mentor staff, and ensure a clean, safe environment across the hospital’s EVS program.

Responsibilities include staffing, training, process improvements, and cross-coverage planning to support clinical and non-clinical areas while upholding Cleveland Clinic’s high standards of cleanliness and appearance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED plus two years of supervisory experience or a bachelor’s degree.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferred environmental services or housekeeping experience.

• Provide effective utilization of personnel, policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe and attractive environment.
• Continuously inspect assigned areas to ensure high quality cleaning and maintenance is performed.
• Maintain staffing levels and approve and schedule paid time off and leave requests.
• Ensure cross coverage.
• Coordinate and provide orientation, education and training.
• Improve procedures and processes.
• Analyze work flow and procedures and identify and implement opportunities to improve speed, quality and effectiveness.

As an Environmental Services Supervisor II at Cleveland Clinic, you will play a vital role in maintaining the clean, safe, and welcoming environment that patients, visitors, and staff rely on every day by overseeing the technical and administrative operations of the Environmental Services (EVS) Department. In this leadership role, you will mentor team members, serve as a trusted resource, and implement goals that support both clinical and non-clinical areas while ensuring the effective use of staff, policies, and procedures to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and appearance. A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Supervise the functions, daily operations and caregivers in the Environmental Services department.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience as a Work Leader, Team Lead, Project Manager or one year of supervisory experience or a bachelor’s degree
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Environmental services or housekeeping experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
• Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
• Ability to perform duties while walking, standing, stooping and lifting.

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum Annual Salary: $43,200.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $65,880.00

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
