The Supervisor Engineering Technician- Hardware Labs directs, leads, and manages the day-to-day technical activities of Zebra's hardware test labs. You will be responsible for supervising a multi-disciplinary team of engineering technicians who perform critical hands‑on testing for new product development. The Supervisor will coordinate activities across a diverse portfolio of labs, including Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), Radio Frequency (RF), EMI, and overall Product Qualification, ensuring that product validation aligns with project timelines and Zebra's high standards for quality and reliability.
Core function: Assists in the design, construction, test and check-out of test equipment. Debugs and characterizes defects, providing detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing tests for product evaluation reports. Maintains documentation of test operations and reports results to engineering. Identifies actual or potential problems in test plans or company products. Demonstrates intermediate understanding of development processes and product launch scope and activities. Monitors progress against deliverables from the team and reports to design team.
Team Leadership & Development: Directly supervises one or more engineering technician. Coaches and develops technicians in fundamentals of engineering support activities which may include design, test, check-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. Working from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble‑shooting functions.
Hands‑on Technical Contribution: Leverages technical expertise to assist with complex test setup, execution, and troubleshooting of prototype electro‑mechanical systems and specialized test equipment. Assists product development engineers in the diagnosis and replication of product failures. May perform engineering support activities themselves acting as a senior technician as needed.
This role requires 5-days per week in our Holtsville, NY office.

Pay Range: $86,080.00 - $129,120.00 Annual Incentive Compensation: In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance‑based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 10% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
