Job description

New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a Supervisor for Energy Efficiency Residential Programs. The candidate will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the work that supports NJNG's energy efficiency programs, including overseeing vendors, managing QA/QC, reporting, budgeting, and ensuring controls and practices for vendor performance and payments.

Major Responsibilities
  • Lead NJNG’s Residential Energy Efficiency programs, including prescriptive and comprehensive rebate programs, home energy reports, and the marketplace for residential customers.
  • Supervise and guide programs performed by program staff, contractors, engineers, and office support staff, managing end‑to‑end operations and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop, revise, and execute program processes and procedures; serve as a resource for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring program rules and procedures are followed.
  • Analyze information and make strategic decisions, recommending alternatives and identifying anticipated benefits, consequences, and impacts.
  • Coordinate with joint utility committees to ensure consistent program delivery across the state and advocate for NJNG’s positions; work with partner electric utilities on dual‑fuel projects.
  • Prepare and review regulatory data requests and ad hoc inquiries; engage with the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities in working groups and identify potential policy impacts.
  • Provide input for department‑wide forecasting and budgeting, including quantitative performance indicators for the program.
  • Participate in national and regional associations to improve knowledge of energy efficiency program approaches and technologies.
  • Support marketing outreach and business development for energy efficiency programs.
  • Streamline work procedures to promote departmental efficiency.
  • Participate in developing new ideas for residential energy efficiency and demand response programs; serve as a key member of the team developing and supporting filings.
  • Address escalated residential customer inquiries, exploring resolutions with contractors and recommending actions to align with contractor remediation policy.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Manager and/or Director to support the energy efficiency programs.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting or managing energy efficiency programs.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or people‑leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with a strong customer‑service focus.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and Saturdays, with periodic travel for industry conferences.

Compensation

Expected base pay range: $92,500–$125,000. Base pay is based on several factors, including experience, skills, and knowledge. The role is eligible to participate in an annual short‑term incentive program.
