New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources is seeking a Compliance Engineer for collecting, validating, and maintaining regulatory compliance data to ensure gas distribution operations meet the requirements of 49 CFR Part 192, applicable state regulations, and company procedures. This role supports inspections, surveys, DIMP activities, audits, and regulatory reporting by maintaining accurate records in systems such as Maximo and GIS, identifying data gaps, and coordinating corrections with field and engineering teams. The position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
This position is deemed safety‑sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s (PHMSA) regulations. Employees in this position are subject to drug and alcohol testing, including pre‑employment, random, reasonable suspicion and post‑accident testing. PHMSA‑required drug tests include testing for marijuana. The use of marijuana, or testing positive for marijuana, is disqualifying and will lead to removal from performing safety‑sensitive functions as well as disciplinary action.

Compensation: Expected base pay range for this role will be $70,500–$95,500. Base pay is based on several factors including experience, skills, and knowledge. This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short‑term incentive program.
