Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Idaho Falls is seeking a Supervisory Drafting Engineer to lead a team of drafting professionals supporting advanced power plant designs, including Small Modular Reactors. The role blends hands-on drafting with people management to ensure accurate, fabrication-ready drawings.

You will coordinate with engineers, maintain drafting standards, and mentor staff while traveling less than 5% and contributing to development of internal drafting guidelines.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of design experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience leading or managing a team of individual contributors.
• Engineering Technology diploma, AA degree, certificates and/or equivalent education in engineering design and technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency utilizing 2D and 3D CAD tools to create engineering deliverables.
• Knowledge of engineering materials, fabrication processes, design for manufacturing and assembly principles.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of a Curtiss-Wright drafting standard.
• Create and modify detailed drawings using CAD/CAM hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering.
• Work with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.
• Perform drafting checks for other drafters to ensure drawings meet Curtiss-Wright drafting standards.
• May work with system management including file maintenance, backup and storage.
• May be asked to provide work guidance to lower-level positions, or engineers that may assist with drafting and design on occasions.

Supervisor, Design Engineering

We have a rewarding opportunity for a Supervisor, Drafting with CW Idaho Falls, ID!

As the drafting supervisor, you will lead and guide a team of drafting professionals. This team is part of the Engineering Group and provides drafting support for advanced power plant designs including Small Modular Reactors as well as existing nuclear power plants. In this role, you will support existing Curtiss-Wright products as well as new product development. The position is considered a working supervisor where some of your time will be working on drawings. The successful candidate, and the team, will prepare working plans, detailed drawings and complete mechanical or electrical drawings of complex components and assemblies from notes, verbal instructions and rough or detailed sketches for engineering or manufacturing purposes, using computerized equipment (e.g., CAD/CAM). Work at this level generally involves more advanced drafting assignments.

Salary Information: $ 89,100.00 - $118,800.00 per year plus bonus

What You Bring

Required

• 6+ years design experience.

Preferred

• Experience developing drafting standards.
• Equipment layout or panel design experience for end user facilities is preferred
• Electronics and panel layout experience
