An established industry player is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee operations in their Distribution Center. This role involves supervising various departments, managing logistics, and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will lead a team, monitor workflow, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency. Responsible for implementing and supervising procedures and operations within assigned departments of the Distribution Center.
Supervise various departments such as Picking, Parts, and Shipping & Receiving; monitor workflow and production in these areas.
Ensure products and parts are inventoried, ordered, received, picked, and checked regularly, based on assigned areas.
Manage team members including Assistant Supervisors, Lead Clerks, Clerks, and temporary personnel.
Collaborate with other departments like Customer Service to ensure on-time delivery, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Oversee activities related to sales order service from order to delivery, directly or through subordinates.
Recommend and help set annual objectives and profit plans.
Maintain logs and reports; monitor and control distribution costs.
Plan inventory levels to balance customer service and transportation costs.
Manage import/export logistics for shipments to and from vendors and distribution centers globally.
Monitor work hours, provide coaching, and conduct performance reviews.
Supervise attendance and staffing, and interview for open positions.
Promote technical and leadership development among team members.
Recommend and implement improvements in policies, procedures, and equipment.
Establish relationships with key personnel and communicate with internal/external clients.
Administer safety programs and take corrective actions to prevent injuries and property damage.
Assist in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with at least 2 years of leadership experience.
Strong computer skills; knowledge of AS400 or SAP preferred.
Excellent communication, project management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Ability to work accurately and safely under pressure; overtime and travel may be required.
Working Conditions
Primarily in a warehouse environment, with physical activities including walking, lifting up to 75 lbs., and working in varying weather conditions.
