Maple Care Homes is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our team as Clinical Nursing Supervisor. You will oversee the nursing department’s daily operations, supervise nursing and direct care staff, and implement strategies to improve patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing and RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Provides admission assessment for new Residents and completes admission paperwork.
• Prepares a service plan for each Resident with input from the Resident or responsible party.
• Orients direct care staff to the service plan and ensures staff competency.
• Obtains physician orders and needed equipment, supplies, and medications for Residents.
• Delegates activities to unlicensed personnel per nursing judgment and state regulations.
• Maintains 24-hour staffing plan to meet Residents' needs.
• Oversees medication management program and ensures documentation in the clinical record.
• Responds to clinical problems and emergencies 24/7.
• Leads care conferences and the agency's quality assurance program.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our team! As the Clinical Nursing Supervisor, you will oversee all aspects of the nursing department’s daily operations. You will supervise nursing and direct support staff and implement strategies to improve patient care. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a deep understanding of best practices in both nursing and administration.

Job Responsibilities

Provides or delegates an admission assessment for all new Residents:

Completes all admission paperwork promptly.

Prepares a service plan for each Resident with input from the Resident and/or responsible party.

Orients direct care staff to the service plan.

Obtains physician orders, as appropriate.

Obtains needed equipment, supplies, and medications for Residents.

1. Assures that the assessment and physician orders are appropriately updated
2. Delegates activities to the unlicensed personnel as appropriate according to nursing judgment and state regulations.
3. Assures adequate staffing by preparing and implementing a 24-hour daily staffing plan to meet residents’ needs at all times, including reasonably foreseeable needs.
4. Provides or delegates supervisory visits according to nursing judgment and state home care licensure regulations.
5. Reviews and updates the service plan to ensure that it is current and accurate.
6. Assures the completion of discharges and transfers for Residents when needed.
7. Establishes and assures the implementation of the medication management program for Residents based on assessed data and according to agency policy and state statute.
8. Documents as indicated in the clinical record.
9. Responds to clinical problems and/or emergencies as identified by the unlicensed personnel 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

1. Communicates with families, responsible parties, case managers, and other health care providers regarding the Residents when indicated.
2. Directs in the orientation of new staff.
3. Completes competency evaluation.
4. Provides orientation to clinical responsibilities.
5. Conducts the annual performance evaluation of direct care staff.
6. Responds to employee performance problems or complaints related to clinical issues.
7. Oversees the staff education program.

Training and Safety

• Provides in-services as appropriate.
• Coordinates other educational opportunities for staff.
• Obtains relevant training materials.
• Provides training documentation to the Administrator.
• Responds to requests for training as appropriate.

11. Promotes a safe and comfortable environment for the resident and family
12. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
13. Recognizes and manages own stresses, which may affect work performance
14. Participates in in‑service educational programs, as required by state regulations
15. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Administrator
16. Adheres to all agency policies
17. Provide supervision for nursing staff and direct support staff.
18. Completes and reviews compliance and training for all staff.
19. Must physically go to each facility

Qualifications

• Five years of nursing experience preferred.
• The required licensing/certification to perform this role.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
