Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years’ experience in registration, scheduling, customer service, business office experience or insurance verification experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or health care management or 3-5 years registration/business office experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with healthcare software and office tools (e.g., RIS, Chartmaxx, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred.

Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations in designated area(s) which may include Patient Access, Pre and Point of Service Collection, Financial Counseling, or Centralized Patient Scheduling. Responsible for service functions of designated area ensuring all elements of patient appointment and/or registration is complete and accurate. Oversees staff in department including hiring, coaching, and performance management. Monitors quality and accuracy of interactions and/or patient accounts. Works to integrate services within area of responsibility to maximize efficiency, quality and provide a positive patient experience. Works collaboratively with department leaders and scheduling staff. Assists with the resolution of complex issues and problems. Works to ensure regulatory compliance for departments integrated across multiple locations and sites. Responsible for federal, state and regulatory compliance related to department oversight. Monitors productivity and budget. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years’ experience in registration, scheduling, customer service, business office experience or insurance verification experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or health care management or 3-5 years registration/business office experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous experience in team building and staff development preferred.
• Patient Access Only: Experience with Affinity, Chartmax, Amelior, RIS, SCM, Outlook, Excel, Word and power point preferred.
• Centralized Patient Scheduling Only: Experience with RIS, Quadramed, Unibased, Chartmaxx, Passport preferred.
