Newrez is seeking a Supervisor Bankruptcy to lead a team of Bankruptcy Case Managers, ensuring efficient processes, timelines, and performance metrics. The role includes staff training, coaching, and cross-department collaboration with attorneys.

The ideal candidate has extensive bankruptcy or mortgage servicing experience and prior people management skills. The position emphasizes data-driven decisions and strong communication within a dynamic mortgage services environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred and relevant work experience.
• 6+ years of bankruptcy or mortgage servicing experience is required.
• 1-2 years of management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a staff of multiple Bankruptcy Case Managers.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date policies and procedures.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes.
• Train new hires on systems of record and investor guidelines.
• Use reporting to manage the team and adjust reporting as needed.
• Conduct coaching and annual reviews as part of personnel management.
• Serve as bankruptcy liaison for other departments and outside counsel.

Primary Function

The Supervisor Bankruptcy will oversee a team of Bankruptcy Case Managers and ensure that the team is performing efficiently with respect to processes, procedures, timelines, and other metrics, and also be responsible for all aspects of training and personnel management for the team.

Principal Duties

• Supervise a staff of multiple Bankruptcy Case Managers.
• Develop and maintain up to date policies and procedures.
• Identify areas for process improvement and help implement new processes, as necessary.
• Training of new hires on all systems of record, investor guidelines and industry standards.
• Identify areas for process improvement and help implement new processes as necessary.
• Training of team on new processes as implemented.
• Use reporting to manage the team and makes changes to reporting, as necessary.
• All aspects of personnel management including coaching and annual reviews.
• Act as the Bankruptcy point of contact for other departments within the Company as well as attorney firms on escalated issues.
• Track and analyze departmental data and report on the activities of the team.
• Assist with attorney billing and invoice approval.
• Accept special tasks as necessary and assume responsibility for successfully achieving objectives.
• Must be able to make business decisions based on likelihood of recovery versus liability risks.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
• 6+ years of bankruptcy or mortgage service-related experience required.
• 1-2 years of management experience.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements

• Must have strong analytical skills; strong organizational skills with attention to detail; strong communication; strong computer skills and strong research skills.
• Must be effective in multi-tasking and be goal oriented.
• Must be able to work on a team or independently with minimal supervision.
