Job summary

Newrez seeks a Supervisor Bankruptcy to lead a team of Case Managers, ensuring efficient adherence to timelines and metrics. You will oversee training, performance management, and cross‑department collaboration, driving improved processes and reporting accuracy.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in bankruptcy or mortgage services, plus 1–2 years of managerial experience and strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of bankruptcy or mortgage service experience required.
  • 1–2 years of management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a staff of multiple Bankruptcy Case Managers.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date policies and procedures.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes.
  • Train new hires on systems of record, investor guidelines and industry standards.
  • Use reporting to manage the team and adjust reporting as needed.
  • Handle personnel management including coaching and annual reviews.
  • Serve as Bankruptcy point of contact for other departments and law firms.
  • Track and analyze departmental data and report on team activities.
  • Assist with attorney billing and invoice approval.
  • Accept special tasks and drive objectives to completion.
  • Make business decisions based on recovery likelihood vs liability risks.

Primary Function

The Supervisor Bankruptcy will oversee a team of Bankruptcy Case Managers and ensure that the team is performing efficiently with respect to processes, procedures, timelines, and other metrics, and also be responsible for all aspects of training and personnel management for the team.

Principal Duties
  • Supervise a staff of multiple Bankruptcy Case Managers.

  • Assist with attorney billing and invoice approval.
  • Accept special tasks as necessary and assume responsibility for successfully achieving objectives.
  • Must be able to make business decisions based on likelihood of recovery versus liability risks.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • 6+ years of bankruptcy or mortgage service-related experience required.
  • 1-2 years of management experience.
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements
  • Must have strong analytical skills; strong organizational skills with attention to detail; strong communication; strong computer skills and strong research skills.
  • Must be effective in multi-tasking and be goal oriented.
  • Must be able to work on a team or independently with minimal supervision.
