Job summary

Independent Stave Company seeks a Night Shift Production Supervisor to oversee the production line for white oak barrels at the Morehead Mill. You will create daily work schedules, monitor operations, and ensure product specs and targets are met.

You will resolve production issues, train on new processes, onboard new employees, and review daily records to spot trends or performance issues. Expect training on day shift before night shift transfer.

Responsibilities

• Enforce compliance with safety standards.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
• Oversee employee development and conduct annual performance reviews.
• Document incidents, disciplinary actions, and accident/injury reports when necessary.
• Assist in the development of job procedures.
• Inspect materials and collaborate with the Quality Team to address quality defects.
• Assist in training new team members by developing a training plan for all production positions and ensuring that employees are properly trained.

Job description

We seek motivated candidates to fill a night shift Production Supervisor position at our Morehead Mill. A typical day for a Production Supervisor includes overseeing a manufacturing production line that produces or assembles components for white oak barrels. The supervisor is responsible for creating daily work schedules, following standard manufacturing procedures, and monitoring operations to ensure that they meet product specifications and production targets.

They are responsible for resolving production issues and addressing workers' questions about processes, methods, or equipment. Additionally, the supervisor provides training on new processes or equipment and is involved in onboarding new employees. Furthermore, they review daily assembly production records to identify trends or potential performance issues.

Compensation consists of: Base pay, profit sharing, quarterly KPI's and bi-annual KPIS.

Night Shift: 6:30 p.m - 5:00 a.m. Mon-Thur. OT on some Fridays. (Training will take several months and will take place on the day shift before transferring to complete training on nights.)
