Job summary

Valley Youth House seeks a Supervisor to lead teams across programs serving children, youth and families. You will ensure safe, high-quality service delivery, guide staff, and maintain compliance with all standards and regulations.

The role emphasizes a trauma-informed, youth-centered approach and culturally sensitive practice. Applicants should have a related Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of experience in a trauma-informed residential setting, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 2-3 years experience with adolescent youth in a trauma-informed, residential setting.
  • Knowledge of DHS licensing requirements and procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license including vehicle insurance and inspection.
  • Passing score on annual motor vehicle clearance to operate agency vehicles.
  • No convictions of prohibited criminal or child abuse offenses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality leadership, direction and supervision to team members in all program settings and foster a culturally sensitive, youth centered environment.
  • Guide, monitor and ensure quality and safe service delivery in compliance with agency, county, state and federal standards of practice and program regulations.
  • Monitor, prepare and submit program and financial outcome reports according to agency practice and protocols.

Essential Functions of the Supervisor:

  • Provide high quality leadership, direction and supervision to team members in all program settings and foster a culturally sensitive, youth centered environment.

Minimal Qualifications for the Supervisor:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Individual 21 years of age or older, with the ability to identify with and adapt to the goals and philosophies of the program.
  • 2-3 years experience, with adolescent youth in a trauma informed, residential setting. Knowledge of DHS licensing requirements and procedures
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license including vehicle insurance and inspection on any vehicle used for daily work and transportation of clients
  • Must receive a passing score on annual motor vehicle clearance to be eligible to operate agency vehicles.
  • Never been convicted of any prohibited criminal or child abuse offense

Physical Requirements of the Supervisor:

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
  • Able to climb in and out of vehicle multiple times per day
  • Able to walk up and down stairs as necessary
  • Reach with hands and arms and sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk, working on a computer
