The person in this role needs to have high ownership and a strong drive to coordinate with all teams at Boyd to ensure continued success. Promoting safety, quality, and world class manufacturing needs to be top priorities. They need to be the voice of production for the organization and be a driver of continuous improvement. Additionally, this person needs to be able to prioritize both for themselves and their team, the things that are most important for individual and corporate success. This also means they will need to be levelheaded, yet resolute, as unforeseen things occur and be able to be flexible and innovative with solutions.* Leadership + Identify, develop, and mentor their team to be able to take on progressively more responsibility and be more effective in the jobs they are tasked to do + Address performance issues swiftly and with a clear expectation of next steps if performance issues are not resolved. The production supervisor also needs to provide ample training and feedback to the individual for the best chance of success + Promote high safety, quality, and performance compliance daily + Drive for consistency in the way jobs are performed and coordinate with support teams to remove obstacles for highest quality and performance possible + Train, coach, and evaluate team members to ensure performance expectations and compliance with procedures.* Safety + Promote PPE use to the policy + Address unsafe practices immediately + Drive resolution for safety incidents and near misses to prevent future occurrence + Highlight and coordinate with supporting teams for the best solutions to improve safety while being a voice of the production team for feasibility* Quality + Empower the team to clearly understand quality expectations + Hold team accountable for quality issues including: - Notification - Retraining - Discipline as deemed appropriate + Lead problem solving and resolution for both internal and external quality issues + Highlight quality issues with the team as well as the individuals that were responsible for the defects + Be a voice of production to resolve quality issues while balancing production needs* Production + Give the team the tools to be able to be successful at the tasks given to them including: - Identifying and developing good trainers - Giving clear expectations of performance goals - Recognizing good performance - Addressing poor performance - Drive for visual tools to help team clearly know performance level - Be the leader of consistency for job set ups* Interaction + Coordinate with other departments including Quality, Customer Service, Scheduling, Engineering, Purchasing, Shipping and Receiving, and Maintenance to assure continued Boyd success - Identify potential quality issues and bring to the appropriate quality engineer for added input as needed - Coordinate with Customer Service on any issues that could affect delivery to the customer - Coordinate with Scheduling to ensure highest on time delivery possible - Coordinate with Engineering to identify potential quality and production issues that can be resolved with robust process improvements - Notify Purchasing of issues with materials, delivery, and quality - Work with Shipping and Receiving on priorities for materials and tools coming in as well as timing for hot parts that need to go out - Promptly bring machine issues to Maintenance and clarify urgency and needs for repairsOther duties as assigned.**Education:**High school diploma or GED### ***LIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMER***The above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required for the position.
