Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a transportation Structural Engineer with a minimum of 20 years of experience in designing transportation structures such as highway, transit, and rail bridges. Experience with inspection and rehabilitation of existing structures is a plus. The successful candidate will assist senior engineers in performing analysis, developing designs, contract drawings, and specifications for various infrastructure and transportation projects. Possible locations include Roseville and Fresno, California. This role is full-time, but part-time options will be considered. Join our Transportation Team and work on exciting, sustainable, and unique projects to better communities.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of structural engineering for transportation structures.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, and details for transportation projects.
• Design new structures and rehabilitate existing structures.
• Review shop drawings, perform calculations, coordinate with the design team, conduct site visits, respond to RFI, oversee testing and monitoring programs.
• Coordinate with clients, including public agencies and private clients, regarding project deliveries, submittals, meetings, and review comments.
• Collaborate with other structural staff and departments to complete projects.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Registered Professional Engineer in California.
• Proficient in steel, masonry, timber, and concrete design (including precast and prestressed).
• Experience with Structural Analysis software such as SAP 2000, CsiBridge, Midas, or similar.
• Strong background in bridge design calculations and plans per Caltrans standards.
• Understanding of design codes and standards such as AASHTO, Caltrans, AREMA, and CBC.
• Experience with California High Speed Rail Projects is a plus.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, leadership, and team-building skills are essential.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree; Master’s preferred.
• 20 years of experience in structural design for bridges and infrastructure, with Caltrans experience.
• High-speed rail experience is preferred.

Note: The role may involve office work and field work, including exposure to weather conditions.
