About the Position:

Under general direction of the Chief, Office of Traffic Safety Programs (Division of Traffic Operations), the Senior Transportation Engineer acts as first line supervisor overseeing varied and difficult transportation engineering work involving the supervision of engineers and others engaged in traffic safety investigations and analysis, preparing studies, and initiating safety and operational improvement projects for urban area locations. The incumbent (Urban Area-Traffic Safety Branch Chief) is responsible for working together with the rural area Traffic Safety Branch Chief. The incumbent will also be responsible for engaging in the 4 Pillars of Traffic Safety: Double Down on What Works, Accelerate Advanced Technology, Implement a Safe System Approach and Integrate Equity.
