Job summary

Atlas Rehab and Healthcare at Maywood seeks a Cook to prepare meals per current standards, policies, and diet instructions, under the Head Cook and Director of Food Services. You will ensure quality service and coordinate with dietitians and other departments to meet residents’ dietary needs.

Qualifications

• Must possess a minimum of an 8th grade education.
• One year of food service supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in hospital or nursing center food service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspect diet trays to assure the correct diet is served to residents.
• Coordinate food service with other departments as necessary.
• Work with the center’s dietitian and implement recommended changes.
• Ensure that all food procedures follow established policies.
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and recipes.
• Serve meals with proper portion control and provide bedtime snacks.
• Maintain menus and ensure secure access to resident information.
