Job summary

Four Oaks Family And Childrens Services is seeking a Supervised Community Treatment Counselor to work with youths aged 13 to 18 in the community. The role emphasizes Trauma-Informed Care to address underlying trauma and provide day-to-day care, supervision, and behavioral interventions.

The position requires the ability to transport youth to activities, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and establish trusted relationships while ensuring basic needs are met.

Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age and a high school diploma.
  • Bachelor's degree in a human services or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent, individualized reinforcement to client behavior and teach adaptive behaviors.
  • Use Trauma-Informed Care to look beyond behavior and address underlying trauma.
  • Transport youth to program activities and community resources following agency protocols.
  • Collaborate with the team to review case progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships based on trust and respect; monitor daily living needs.

Job description

What you will do?As the Supervised Community Treatment Counselor you will work with children ages 13 to 18 in the community that are undergoing treatment for mental or behavioral health concerns. This position will play a critical role in the day-to-day care of the children including the use of Trauma Informed Care. This treatment method allows us to look beyond a child's behavior to the deeper trauma that caused it. Specific responsibilities include:Provide consistent, individualized reinforcement to client behavior, using daily issues to teach and reinforce adaptive behaviors.Utilize a proactive/preventive method of intercepting problems to neutralize them before they escalate.Strategically utilize identified behavior management techniques and other de-escalation training to assist clients in developing appropriate behaviors.Assist clients in developing insight into their behaviors so that they learn to self-identify and self correct.Understand the impact of client’s behaviors on their own actions/reactions in the workplace and utilizes team feedback to enhance the effectiveness of their interventions.Understand the population and is aware of individualized treatment plan.Provide daily living supervision and treatment interventionEstablish a therapeutic relationship with the client based on trust & respect.Evaluate the impact of behavioral, group treatment, and life-space interventions and provides direction/feedback.Assure consistent, ongoing, and timely provision for basic client needs.Safely transport youth to/from program activities and community resources monitoring behaviors and following agency transportation protocols.Effectively participates in team to review case progress and provide best programmingWhy Work here?Four Oaks understands the importance of supporting and treating one another as if they were our own family members.
